Holly Dress

This babydoll dress is elegant, lightweight, and delicate, made of 100% organic Irish linen. It features an entirely hand embroidered wide square neckline, 'deshilado', which is the hand weaving of lace into fabric by unravelling the tiny threads of linen and using them to weave with, as well as hand embroidery on the body of the dress. The length is mini - mid thigh - and it is currently only made in one size, which fits S-M/L. 

It takes 6 weeks to make this dress. Every step, from the drawing of the flowers, to the deshilado, to the hand embroidery, to the cut and sew, was done by different women from villages in Ocotlán, and Oaxaca City.

It was made collaboratively with Alejandra, Zoila, and Patricia as well as some of their comrades in 3 different pueblos in the municipality of Ocotlán.
