Welcome to our world of delicate hand embroidered flowers by mothers, sisters, grandmothers and friends from Ocotlán, Oaxaca, Mexico. I went to Oaxaca to make something which I felt represented Casa Nushki in a different light. Her softer, more dainty, elegant sister, if you will. I met Zoila on my first trip to Oaxaca last year, and I was introduced to/met 2 more families this year who collaborated with me to create this collection and bring this vision to life. Zoila was our facilitator, she introduced me to people and controlled the women's work in the area. Alejandra draws and crochets - she draws the daintiest flowers and then puts her finishing touches of hand crocheting and weaving onto the products. Patricia, Agripina, Luisa, another Alejandra, Zoila and Plautila are our embroiderers, along with some of their friends. These women and our friendships taught me a lot about myself, about true female power, spirit and spirituality, about what truly matters and what commitment and longevity look like in practice. I wanted to honour and value their amazing hand crafts with fair pay and the best quality fabrics, and to build a long term relationship with these women, this collection is hopefully the first of many. I designed this collection with a woman in mind, one who likes feeling sexy and free and celebratory of femininity in all its strength and wisdom. I hope you love it as much as I enjoyed the process of creating it <3
