Holly Dress - with puff sleeves

This is another version of the Holly babydoll dress, it has adorable puff sleeves that make it even more little-girl-on-the-prairie-esque. It is elegant, lightweight, and delicate, made of 100% organic Irish linen. It features an entirely hand embroidered wide square neckline, 'deshilado', which is the hand weaving of lace into fabric by unravelling the tiny threads of linen and using them to weave with, as well as hand embroidery on the body of the dress. The length is mini - mid thigh - and it is currently only made in one size, which fits most sizes because of its relaxed and loose fit. 

It takes 6 weeks to make this dress. Every step, from the drawing of the flowers, to the deshilado, to the hand embroidery, to the cut and sew, was done by different women from villages in Ocotlán, and Oaxaca City. Every dress is reminiscent of the other, but still slightly unique, as is the nature of hand embroidery. Every woman imprints her own magic touch on the pieces.
